Hair Laser Removal Manchester
Laser Hair Removal works by directing concentrated light to target the hair follicle at the root. The hair will become finer and softer, less visible and the growth will slow down more and more with each treatment.

Permanent Hair Reduction

Say hello to medical-grade Laser Hair Removal & enjoy the freedom of being ready at a moment's notice.

At Laser Chic, our most popular treatment is laser hair removal for both men and women. Using the latest laser technology, we have treated thousands of clients in Manchester. Our lasers feature a unique dynamic cooling device that helps to calm, soothe and protect the skin.

Shaving, waxing, epilating and other forms of hair removal can be costly and time-consuming. They can also irritate the skin, cause ingrown hairs and leave you with spots, bumps or scars.

Laser hair removal is recommended as an effective treatment for hirsutism (excess hair growth in women with PCOS). Statistics show that after a full course, between 70% and 85% of targeted hair will be reduced or permanently removed.

Alexandrite laser - 755 nm is designed to work for clients with dark hair and lighter skin tones.
Nd:YAG laser
- 1064 nm works best on clients who have a darker skin tone.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

Both Alexandrite and Nd Yag uses concentrated laser energy to target the hair follicles in the treatment area. Laser heating damages the follicle, causing current hair to shed and making it difficult for future hair to grow. The treatment leaves surrounding skin and tissue intact, minimising discomfort and downtime after the procedure.

In addition to the general unwanted hair removal, laser hair removal has been proven to be very effective for the specific removal of hair that causes irritation. These include ingrown hair, razor bumps (pseudofolliculitis barbae), pilonidal cysts, excess hair associated with birthmarks, or post-surgical procedures (grafts).

Laser Hair Removal Consultation

Prior to treatment, a free consultation is conducted in which a medical history is taken to confirm suitability for treatment. The consultant will explain the process to you and decides which laser will be used on appropriate settings. She will answer any questions you have and carries out a patch test on each area.

The patch test will give you an idea of how the treatment will feel. This is also a good opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

The laser consultant will then advise you on the best course of treatments to achieve your goal. The recommendation is a minimum of 6 sessions usually. Before treatment commences you must provide written consent.

Our FAQs section below covers many of the aspects covered in the consultation. Following the consultation, if you choose to go ahead, you can start the treatment from as early as 7 days later.

After A Laser Hair Removal Treatment

The skin may be red immediately after the treatment. Also, the hair follicles where the skin has been treated may be raised and bumpy. This usually subsides within a few hours but can take up to 2 weeks for some clients. A very few people experience itching a few days later as the hair is pushed out.

The hair growth slows considerably following a laser treatment. It usually takes 2-3 weeks at which point the dead hair will fall out. New hair follicles will then grow, which are usually less coarse.

After 1-3 sessions, the area can begin to look patchy as certain hair follicles will stop producing new hair. After 4-6 treatments, the hair should be significantly reduced, and after 6-12 sessions, we can achieve up to 90% reduction.

The Main Benefits Of Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is the most effective method for achieving permanent reduction. After 6-12 sessions, you can achieve up to 90% reduction. Compare this to a lifetime of shaving or waxing. Laser hair removal is an investment and more economical in the long run.

The laser is also extremely effective at treating ingrown hairs. After 2-4 sessions you will notice a significant if not complete removal of ingrown hairs. The bumps, redness and skin pigmentation caused by ingrown will also clear up as leaving the skin healthier and smoother.

I went for laser hair removal and the whole process from booking to treatment and after care has been amazing. I wasn’t sure what quite to expect in the treatment but Seti is very professional and puts you at ease immediately. Lovely clean, modern and stylish clinic. I will absolutely be returning for more treatments.

First time ever getting treatment so I was a little nervous at first... Seti was very welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. Seti will help you in any way that she can and provides amazing service.
Thank you so much Seti!
sophie W.
My therapist, Seti is very friendly and very informative (you can ask her anything). I have had 3 sessions and I've been responding amazing to the treatment so far, I haven't seen any hair growth in over a month. Loving it so far, the only con I would say is if you have darker skin the specific laser used for us is apparently more painful than that of fairer skin (this isn't specific to laser chic though). So it's a painful process but worth it.

Why Consider Laser Hair Removal?

book online
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Most clients will get up to 80% hair reduction with the recommended course and top up treatments as long as the interval is maintained.
Does it worth getting laser hair removal?
If you sum up the amount you spend on razors or bikini wax courses in your life, it might be worth £93-£300 per session for hair removal with laser. So consider laser hair removal as a beauty investment. Always chose a clinic that provides the latest technology lasers and the treatment performed by a trained technician to avoid burns or scars on the skin.
How many laser hair removal treatments do you need?
Usually between 6-12 sessions will get you up to 80% reduction of hair growth, this is mostly dependent on the area. For instance, lower legs usually require 6 sessions whereas the face requires 16-30 and sometimes more. All areas need top-up sessions to finish the areas off.

When you have completed 6 sessions you can book for a free review to help us to guide you how many more sessions you will need on each area and the frequency of the top ups. You will not maintain the result if you don't have top up sessions!
Does laser hair removal hurt?
There can be some mild discomfort during laser hair removal treatment but it is often described as having an elastic band pinged against the skin.

The heat only hits the hair not the entire skin like waxing does, so most clients find laser a lot less painful and faster per session than waxing! As we destroy more hair it will become less painful!
Is laser hair removal suitable for darker skin types?
Yes, laser hair removal is suitable for darker skin types. We use the ND: Yag laser for Asian and Black skin. This laser penetrates deeper than most lasers, missing the upper layers of skin where the skin pigment lies, therefore it is one of the safest lasers on the market for laser hair removal and side effects are very low!
How long does a laser hair removal treatment take?
Each area can vary depending on what body part you are planning to treat. For example, underarms can take 10 minutes, and half arms or lower legs from 30 minutes, full back and shoulders from 60 mins to full body which can take 3 hours.
Why is my hair still growing after laser hair removal?
Immediately after one laser treatment, the hair still sits inside the follicles and over the course of around 2 weeks, the hair push out the follicles as if still growing, but then they shed out the follicles completely.

If the hair is still growing after your recommended package, you would need to follow up with top-up treatments to further weaken the hairs' roots and the environment that grows them. Laser hair removal is not always 100% everything gone forever, so top-ups are recommended for the finer remaining hairs.
How soon after my course will I need top ups?
To answer this you will need to book a free review after your course is complete. The best time to book your review is 12 weeks after the final session on the body or 6 weeks on the face.

Most clients are aware from the consultation that the upper body has more hair follicles so it's usually best to start the second course of laser on the upper body/face straight after the first course finishes for optimum results.
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes of course! It is fine to shave or trim if you see any growth.
What happens if you don't shave before laser hair removal?
In some cases, we ask clients not to shave a particular area so we can see where the specific hair growth is. We would then shave it off at the clinic, but in most cases, we require all clients to fully shave the area as the laser needs the full focus of its energy right through the hair follicles and also needs to impact the bulb of the hair. If the hair is on the skin's surface, it is not suitable to treat over that hair without shaving as it is less effective, more of a risk to the skin, and it will be much more painful for the client.
Can I use hair removal cream instead of shaving before my laser?
Yes you can just leave 3 days before the appointment as hair removal creams can make the skin very sensitive. You must check the night before the session that there is no hair on the surface of the skin or you will need to run over the area with a razor!
Can I tan between sessions?
Do not use sunbeds if you are having laser hair removal it can increase the chances of side effects dramatically! Fake tan can be used up to 3 weeks prior to the next session but must all be removed or we will have to rebook your appointment. If you tan in the sun you will have to exfoliate the skin you are having treated and re book for a skin test.

We will not treat sun tanned skin. You must be at your natural skin tone for every session. If you tan easily, you need to be more cautious as it can affect the frequency of your treatments and therefore the results.
My hair is really thick and dark, will I need a lot more sessions?
No, the thicker and darker the hair the better for laser! If you have hormonal hair you will still see great results, but more frequent top-ups will be needed.
How long until the hair falls out after laser hair removal?
Between 5-30 days following the Laser Hair Removal session, shedding of the hair may happen & it might seem like new hair growth. However, that's not the case; actually, it's dead hair making its way out of the follicle. A washcloth or exfoliation could support the hair to come out quicker.
